Your consultation at the clinic begins with a series of questions to provide an understanding of your health and to treat you individually. This often takes around 15-30 minutes and includes a tongue and pulse diagnosis to determine your body type according to Chinese medicine. Often the addition of Chinese herbs, lifestyle advice and dietary therapy may be suggested alongside acupuncture to support your treatment.
Treatment may consist of a variety of techniques including:
- Cupping therapy
- Chinese herbal medicine
- Heat therapy, such as moxibustion & TDP heat lamp
Michael began working as a massage since therapist in 2002 and was introduced to holistic medicine from a young age. He combines elements from Shiatsu, Thai massage, Sports massage, and Tuina (Chinese massage) to provide a firm and supportive treatment.
Each style of massage brings with it unique aspects such as stretching, the use of acupressure points, muscle motor points or calming techniques when someone needs more of a relaxing treatment. Each body is unique and requires a personal approach.
The treatments often incorporate applications of heat through infrared heat lamps, the use of cupping and liniments to encourage recovery and relaxation.
